FPÖ wants to invite Benko, Nehammer and Blümel

In addition to the “Cofag Committee” requested by the FPÖ and SPÖ, which is intended to shed more light on funding from the Covid financing agency, there is also the U-Committee on the “Red-Blue Abuse of Power” requested by the VP alone, which examines the government participation of the SPÖ and FPÖ wants to take a closer look at the period from January 2007 to January 2020.

Speaking to journalists yesterday, FP General Hafenecker called this second U-committee an “ÖVP abuse of power investigative committee,” as it was a “clear example” of how the ÖVP abuses power. Hafenecker criticized the ÖVP for using the most important parliamentary body to make it more difficult to investigate the Cofag disaster. “This U-Committee has the sole purpose of taking away valuable interview days from the Cofag Committee and robbing resources.”

The situation is different with the Cofag Committee, said Hafenecker. Ultimately, the Constitutional Court (VfGH) found that Cofag was an “unconstitutional construct”. The Court of Auditors also came to the conclusion that a lot had gone wrong in Cofag’s operations.
