Many entrepreneurs in Austria reacted angrily when they received the mail from their energy provider regarding the electricity cost brake: You have to have your main residence at the business address!
St.Pölten (OTS) – “This subsidy is purely a marketing gimmick by the federal government and a mockery of Austria’s entrepreneurs! Any company that has a separate office or its own business fails with the requirement of a main residence! It is precisely these companies that are doubly burdened by the increased electricity costs in their own households and in the company,” says Michael Sommer, the spokesman for economics in the Lower Austrian state parliament, summing up the opinion of many entrepreneurs.
Dozens of entrepreneurs have turned to Sommer and Reinhard Langthaler, chairman of the Free Economy in Lower Austria. “It is simply incomprehensible for the entrepreneurs why the government is introducing regulations here that completely ignore real reality. That does not relieve the economy, it only produces unnecessary additional costs without real support for the entrepreneurs, ”Langthaler does not give a good hair to the measure of the federal government.
“After the energy cost subsidy, the electricity cost brake is the second most outstanding non-starter. Countless companies fail the energy cost subsidy because they do not meet the 3% clause for energy costs and because their sales exceed €400,000 they cannot apply for the electricity cost brake either. The companies affected range from local suppliers to dental technology laboratories. The main thing is that the big corporations are filled in by the federal government,” says Sommer, denying the energy cost subsidy any sense.
“The federal government is completely overwhelmed, inactive and unwilling to support small and medium-sized businesses with the horrendous energy costs. The measures are unsuitable and just a PR placebo for the federal government, which really doesn’t help any entrepreneurs in Austria. It is high time that this anti-business government resigned!” Sommer and Langthaler demanded that the federal government resign.
