After countless grievances in the Viennese health system, urgent action is needed

Vienna (OTS) – The health spokesman for the Viennese FPÖ, LAB Wolfgang Seidl, calls on SPÖ Mayor Ludwig to wake up in his ivory tower and finally dismiss his health councilor Peter Hacker. “The daily horror reports from the hospitals of the Vienna Health Association do not seem to get through to him. “A lack of doctors, nurses and other medical staff in the community hospitals, strikes by dedicated and exhausted employees, overcrowded outpatient clinics, corridor beds and bed and ward closures, months of waiting for urgently needed operations are just a few examples of the disastrous situation. Each of these points would be enough in any other city to question those responsible. But Vienna is different – here the incompetent city council, together with its incompetent red management, can continue to dabble in the Vienna Health Association (WiGeV) and the mayor is watching,” criticizes Seidl.

The liberal health spokesman also demands that the almost daily reports of danger from hospital employees are finally taken seriously. “These are no longer even ignored by Hacker and his henchmen, even though they mean that patient healthcare is no longer guaranteed. It is a scandal that Mayor Ludwig is completely inactive despite this dramatic situation and is leaving the City Councilor for Health in office,” said Seidl, who is demanding an immediate emergency plan for Vienna’s health system.
