ÖVP Defense Minister did not tell the truth to the citizens in the Ö1 “Journal zu Gast” either and is driving Austria more and more towards NATO
Vienna (OTS) – “Participation in the NATO project ‘Sky Shield’ is not compatible with our permanent neutrality. Even if ÖVP Defense Minister Tanner wanted to sell it to the citizens once more today as a mere ‘shopping platform’, that does not change this fact, but only underlines that she is not honest with the Austrians and is in fact continuing together with the rest of the black-green federal government working on the gradual abolition of our neutrality. A referendum on Austria’s ‘Sky Shield’ participation, as demanded by us Liberals and our federal party chairman Herbert Kickl, is therefore the order of the day! Such a serious political decision, with which Black-Green is driving our homeland in the direction of NATO, must not be made over the heads of the citizens,” said FPÖ military spokesman NAbg today. Ing. Mag. Volker Reifenberger on statements by ÖVP Defense Minister Tanner in Ö1-“Im Journal zu Gast”.
In this context, Tanner’s announcement was “downright significant, if not even revealing”, according to which she might imagine incorporating the Austrian “Goldhaube” airspace surveillance surveillance system into the “Sky Shield” system. “This would mean nothing other than that in this area our military infrastructure would also be used for NATO countries and that Austria would de facto indirectly become part of this military alliance. Apparently that is also the aim of Black-Green: Namely, to erode our perpetual neutrality piece by piece until there is nothing left of it and then to abolish it once and for all. The introduction of the ‘gold hood’ would also clearly mean that if another state involved in ‘Sky Shield’ became involved in a military conflict, our Austrian radar systems might become a high-value target for attack – and that would be for our country and ours Catastrophic population!” warned Reifenberger.
As the only stable political force, the FPÖ is therefore consistently on the side of neutrality, sovereignty and security in our homeland: “In view of the increasingly aggravated conflict between NATO and Russia, Nehammer, Tanner and Co. are also negligently endangering security with their devastating neutrality policy decision , which the perpetual neutrality has offered Austria for decades!”
