FPÖ demands complete clarification following alleged translation errors in the ÖVP Ministry
Vienna (OTS) – The Viennese FPÖ boss, City Councilor Dominik Nepp, locates a tangible scandal in the area of the ÖVP Ministry of Finance/COFAG and the ÖVP Chamber of Commerce in the discussion regarding an alleged overfunding of companies in the Covid crisis. According to the information provided to the Viennese FPÖ, due to a translation error in the EU requirements, the individual companies were not supported as intended, but the respective individual companies up to a maximum aid amount of 2.3 or twelve million euros (for loss compensation). “It is to be feared that due to a botch and incompetence in the ÖVP Ministry, the companies will now have to repay aid funds that have already been paid out or will no longer receive approved support. It is also obvious that the ÖVP Chamber of Commerce around its Viennese President Walter Ruck has misinformed the companies in this regard. There is a suspicion that these mistakes are now being covered up and that responsibility is being pushed aside,” said Nepp.
Nepp demands a complete clarification of these serious allegations. “It must be revealed transparently whether it is actually a homemade translation error in the ÖVP Ministry and who is responsible for it. Because it must not be that countless companies slide into a financial disaster,” emphasizes the Viennese FPÖ chairman.
Nepp fears that a particularly large number of companies in Vienna are affected by the threat of repayments of Covid aid. “Due to the lockdowns repeatedly extended by SPÖ Mayor Ludwig, Viennese companies are struggling particularly hard. If there is talk of ‘overfunding’ in the area of Covid aid, then that is a cheek of the special class. After all, it is only due to the completely exaggerated lockdown measures by the ÖVP, SPÖ and Greens that companies now need this financial support. I therefore demand that the funds be paid out in full as promised,” affirmed the Viennese FPÖ chairman.
