“It is a shame what is being practiced here under misunderstood humanity”

Vienna (OTS) The liberal National Council member Christian Lausch can only shake his head in the current situation surrounding the escapes of prisoners during medical treatment. “The whole thing can only happen because a cuddling course has been in place in prison for years. The simplest security measures have been abolished. The so-called abdominal belt has proven to be effective, securing the prisoner in front of his body in such a way that he cannot injure the officer, doctor or bystander,” explained Lausch, himself a security guard.

But you have to clarify in advance at the prison whether a visit to the hospital is even necessary, because many treatments might certainly be carried out on site. But Lausch also sees no need to send the prisoners to public hospitals: “Treatment in a secure army hospital would be much easier and safer. There are no necessary contracts here, but that can’t really be a problem. If the period of detention is not announced, contrary to current practice, it will be much more difficult for the prisoners to organize help to escape.”

According to Lausch, these escapes are an indicator that the victim-perpetrator reversal was achieved with the cuddling carried out – to the detriment of security and to the chagrin of the prison guard. “It is a shame what is being practiced here with misunderstood humanity, not to mention the fact that the prison guard is gradually being starved of personnel, infrastructure and finances,” emphasized Lausch.
