“In the event of possible legal disputes following an assignment, a safety net should be created for possible liability risks for the volunteers”

Vienna (OTS) “Voluntary work with the blue light organizations ensures that volunteers are committed to society in this important area and thus also help in emergency situations. Austria shows an impressive voluntary commitment and this enjoys a lot of trust and a high reputation among the population. It is therefore urgently necessary to strengthen voluntary work overall. Today’s announcements, promises and mere commitments to volunteering on the part of the black-green government shouldn’t stop there,” said the free volunteer spokesman NAbg. Max Linder on the result of the volunteer summit.

“Austria’s fire brigades, rescue organizations, mountain, air or water rescue services must not be taken for granted, but must be supported as best as possible. In order to increase the attractiveness of voluntary work, a safety net should be created for possible liability risks for the volunteers in the event of possible legal disputes following an assignment. Other demands include the refund of VAT on the purchase of necessary equipment, and the motorway vignette should be made available free of charge to everyone who drives to their service. Voluntary work plays a major role in our social life and also contributes a lot to identification within a community. These committed people are extremely competent and act in a highly professional manner at a high level. For that, they deserve my highest recognition and appreciation,” emphasized Linder.
