Vienna (OTS) – “The black-green budget is characterized by the highest debts, the highest tax revenues, the highest expenses – but essentially without clear targets and without reforms in the interests of taxpayers. We libertarians are calling for tax cuts so that the citizens have more money once more – and not the state, which is already the big beneficiary of the inflation through VAT, from which the population suffers. We libertarians also demand a deregulation of the administration, a simplification of administration and thus a streamlining of the state, one of the main goals of the previous coalition. But as soon as the ÖVP is in government with the Greens, the exact opposite happens: the black-green coalition further inflates the administration. For 2024, the budget provides for 882 additional positions in the federal administration. “That means 1,751 additional jobs during the government of the ÖVP and the Greens,” emphasized FPÖ National Council member Max Linder today during the budget debate in the National Council.
A lot of tax money would also flow into black-green “climate communism”. “The construction industry, for example, might really use this money in 2024,” noted Linder, emphasizing that experts also shared a number of criticisms of the budget. Even the ÖVP-nominated expert said that the budget estimate was expansive and that it would hardly be possible to spend so much money sensibly in such a short time. The fact that the same ÖVP expert, for example, would tax capital gains and considers the standard value as the basis for property tax calculations to be no longer up-to-date must set off alarm bells for farmers and innkeepers, for example: “They should remember that carefully for the next elections,” said Linder. When it comes to burdens on the population, the ÖVP likes to rely on “expert opinions”.
Linder also outlined the effects of the government’s fatal budget course on the population using an example: “Compared to 2019, the ‘pre-pandemic year’ and the year before the black-green coalition, expenses increased by 56 percent. This is an additional burden of an average of more than 10,000 euros per employee. In the current budget, the increase compared to the previous year is 11.3 percent, which is 3,000 euros per employee. That means everyone who works knows that they have to hand over 3,000 euros per year in order to support this black-green deficit or the expenses in some way.” The liberal National Council member also criticized his Carinthian compatriot Kucher: “The club chairman of the SPÖ criticizes the liberal budget policy – one day following the SPÖ-ÖVP government in Carinthia presented a draft budget for 2024 with a record deficit of almost half a billion euros. That’s what I call a very special kind of chutzpah. You have to have the courage first!”
“One thing is clear in any case: the Freedom Party in a government and a People’s Chancellor Herbert Kickl will ensure tax cuts and a streamlining of the state, a sensible budget policy for and not once morest their own citizens, so that people have more money in their wallets once more,” emphasized Linder.
