The state of Upper Austria and FPÖ infrastructure councilor Günther Steinkellner have set themselves the strategic goal of expanding the main axes of local public transport (public transport) expand and through additional park&Ride- sowie Bike&Ride facilities (P&R / B&R) to secure and improve the efficiency of the traffic axes between the residential locations and the workplaces.
„The main effect is the relief of road traffic in conurbations and the attractiveness of the public transport, mainly in rural areas,” said FPÖ district party chairman deputy LAbg Rudolf Kroiß from Ottnang am Hausruck. “Upper Austria contributes 25% of the total costs of these projects. Planning and implementation agreements have now been concluded for the traffic stations Ottensheim and Vöcklabruck, Garsten, Kematen/Piberbach, Pregarten, Schwertberg, Wernstein, Viechtwang, Traunkirchen and Rohr with a planned total capacity of approx. 300 car parking spaces and approx. 125 bicycle parking spaces. The Rohr-Bad Hall train station is to be equipped with eight electric car charging points to promote electromobility,” Kroiß continues.
„With this, Landesrat Steinkellner and his infrastructure department are continuously working on the further development of our mobility in Upper Austria,” concludes Kroiß.
