Vienna (OTS) – “According to Creditreform, corporate and private insolvencies have increased significantly in the first half of the year and according to Wifo, Austria’s economy will continue to shrink. The ÖVP and the Greens are driving economic power, jobs, social security and prosperity in Austria to the wall with their completely misguided policies that are not focused on the interests of our country and its own population. The figures published today on company and private insolvencies as well as the current Wifo data show very clearly: The government is letting the Austrians down with the – largely home-made – inflation and their location policy is designed to give companies in Austria at various levels that economic activity and thus making it more difficult to keep jobs. A reversal of thrust is finally needed in our country: the interests of our own population and our own economy have to come first – and not those of any elites,” emphasized FPÖ federal party chairman Klubobmann NAbg today. Herbert Kickl.
According to Creditreform, there were 7,642 corporate and private insolvencies in Austria in the first half of 2023, which is an increase of 6.8 percent year-on-year. According to the creditor protection association Creditreform, corporate insolvencies increased by ten percent, with 21 bankruptcies per working day. 5,500 corporate insolvencies are predicted for the year as a whole. Wifo says that Austria’s economy will actually shrink following last year’s stagnation. Increased prices, inflation, high energy costs and an enormous interest burden would have caused the gross value added in industry and construction to fall significantly. Of course, all of this is reflected in rising unemployment figures. By the end of July, around 15,000 more people were registered as unemployed than a year ago. In any case, the Liberals have repeatedly presented measures once morest the explosion in costs, for an honest and serious fight once morest inflation and poverty, for reducing taxes on important consumer goods such as staple foods, fuel and energy – as well as measures to strengthen the business location, according to Kickl.
“Austria must free itself from the downturn caused by the ÖVP and the Greens. The need for new elections is increasing day by day. Because this government is also endangering the future of our country in the medium and long term with its negligent and irresponsible policy of ‘letting yourself drift’ and being dependent on the EU,” emphasized Kickl.
