Vienna (OTS) – “The FPÖ will agree to this law for two reasons. Firstly, it is not a two-thirds matter anyway and secondly, we do not see why precisely those who are not entrepreneurs are discriminated once morest here and should not be able to benefit from this energy cost subsidy, which in any case only represents part of the increased energy costs “Said FPÖ energy spokesman NAbg today. MMMag. dr Axel Kassegger made it clear in his contribution to the debate on the Corporate Energy Cost Subsidy Act.

“So we agree to this law so that the many sports clubs, the countless fire brigades, art and culture, religious and church associations, or non-profit organizations also get this subsidy to cover the increased energy costs,” emphasized the FPÖ Energy spokesman and further: “The political parties are also excluded, but the political academies are not – and we also see that as a deficiency. In contrast to the SPÖ, this deficiency is not big enough for us to fundamentally refuse to approve this law.”

In the further course of his speech, the FPÖ energy spokesman also referred to the ÖVP application regarding “For the evaluation of tax and other measures to support and promote the self-employed as part of the SME report”. “But this is an application in the category where the federal government asks itself to do something – that falls more into the category of show politics. Small and medium-sized companies in particular – the backbone of the Austrian economy – need this support. It is therefore a matter of course to show understanding, respect and appreciation to these companies,” said Kassegger and continued: “In addition, it is all well and good if the ÖVP now wants to show respect and appreciation to the companies, but it would be more important if there was a reduction of ancillary wage costs, a reduction in bureaucracy and faster reductions in energy costs – companies would have a lot more of that.”
