There should not be a ban on working dog sports in Austria run by NGOs
Vienna (OTS) – “The tightening of working dog sports planned by the Green Minister Rauch not only makes a sport in which our local athletes are highly successful impossible, but is also an attack on Austrian traditions,” he said liberal animal protection spokesperson NAbg. Alois Kainz. “But the worrying thing regarding the situation is that the ÖVP is simply letting its green coalition partner get away with this.”
“Only we at the FPÖ stand for real and sensible animal protection. That is also the reason why, as an animal protection spokesman, I stand behind local dog owners and working dog sport in all its facets,” said Kainz, referring to the petition he submitted. Under www.pro-gebrauchshundesport.at Over 5,700 Austrians have already signed to preserve international working dog sport in all its facets. “The numerous positive comments on the petition show me that we have taken the right path here,” said Kainz, emphasizing the importance of his request. “The few negative comments are also informative, as they only underline who the Green Minister’s whisperers are and which NGOs are trying to mobilize once morest Austrian dog owners,” continued Kainz.
“What the left-wing NGOs miss is that working dog sports are not just a private hobby, but that these dogs form an important pool for the numerous service dogs in the police, the armed forces, the Red Cross and other institutions,” Kainz is trying to clarify. “If Rauch also listened to the scientific expertise from the dog owner camp, he would have tried to find a different solution long ago. And that’s exactly what we’re talking regarding with the petition www.pro-gebrauchshundesport.at – we want to work together for animal protection!” emphasized the FPÖ animal protection spokesman.
