FPÖ – Herbert zu Stocker: “There is a glaring shortage of personnel in the police!” | Freedom Parliamentary Club

Vienna (OTS) “Once once more, ÖVP General Secretary Stocker is trying to gloss over the prevailing blatant lack of personnel in the police,” said the federal chairman of the AUF and liberal sector spokesman for the public service NAbg today. Werner Herbert.

“But the fact is that, among other things, the generational change in the police is well underway because many older colleagues are already retired or will be retiring in the near future. In order to deal with these failures of the ÖVP interior ministers, Herbert Kickl, as interior minister, acted with foresight and started a large-scale recruitment campaign. This campaign was the most successful in years. After Herbert Kickl left as minister, the ÖVP immediately stopped these successful recruitment measures. As a result, the police now have a personnel dilemma. In addition to the overtime work, which can hardly be managed anymore, the police officers also have to deal with an ever-increasing willingness to confront violent asylum seekers and immigrants – the ÖVP general secretary should write all of this down in his political logbook,” said Herbert.
