Vienna (OTS) –

At the inaugural meeting of the Freedom Parliamentary Club today, FPÖ federal party chairman Herbert Kickl was unanimously re-elected club chairman. “The Austrians made history in the National Council election and made the FPÖ clearly the strongest political force and the Freedom Parliamentary Club, with 57 members, larger than ever before. We want to convert this size into strength so that this largest Freedom Parliamentary Club in the National Council will be the best advocate for our own population,” said Kickl.

It was also unanimously agreed upon by Dr. Walter Rosenkranz nominated for the office of President of the National Council. Hannes Amesbauer, Dagmar Belakowitsch, Susanne Fürst, Peter Wurm and Norbert Nemeth were elected as club chairman deputies.

In accordance with today’s resolutions, the club’s executive committee also includes Gernot Darmann, Norbert Hofer and Volker Reifenberger. Gerhard Kaniak (finance officer) and Axel Kassegger (folder) were also confirmed in their positions.

Andreas Spanring (Lower Austria) was elected as the successor to Christoph Steiner, who is moving to the National Council, as chairman of the liberal Federal Council faction, and Marlies Doppler (Salzburg) as his deputy.
