FPÖ – Haider welcomes the postponement of the vote on the end of combustion engines | Liberal Parliament Club

The ban on combustion engines is a pointless shot in the foot

Vienna (OTS) “I hope that the pause for reflection on the ban on internal combustion engines will be used to think regarding this completely pointless ban once more,” said today the liberal European Parliamentarian Mag. Roman Haider, who is pushing the postponement of the vote by the Swedish Council Presidency in the next session of the European Parliament Council on the new registration ban for internal combustion engines from 2035 welcomed.

“This ban brings virtually no environmental benefit and destroys one of the most important and innovative industries in Europe. This ban is a shot in the foot,” emphasized Haider, who referred to the minimal reduction in emissions of less than one percent worldwide through a European ban on internal combustion engines. “One can only hope that sanity will eventually come to Brussels and that this ban will be lifted,” said Haider.
