Today’s press conference on the murder of women in Austria is a self-accusation
Vienna (OTS) – Although ÖVP General Secretary Stocker only wrote one of his famous “Copy & Paste” broadcasts the day before yesterday, he did it once more today. There was nothing new in terms of content – except for a self-accusation. So Stocker said that the protection of the population was the duty of the ÖVP-led federal government – and only a few hours following a press conference on the sad ongoing topic of the murder of women, which for FPÖ Secretary General NAbg. Christian Hafenecker was tantamount to self-accusation: “The ÖVP, with all its interior ministers in recent years, has failed tremendously in protecting the population. More than 112,000 asylum applications in the previous year speak for themselves. Cruel murders of women by asylum seekers and other serious crimes such as rape are the result of this ÖVP policy. “
The ÖVP should finally admit that they have not made Austria more secure, but more insecure. Joining a “purchasing platform for military goods” initiated by NATO will not change anything. “Austria’s failure to seek asylum is inextricably linked to the names of the ÖVP interior ministers over the past few decades. From January to May 2023 alone, as many asylum seekers came to Austria as under Interior Minister Herbert Kickl in the entire year! While ÖVP Minister of the Interior Karner is happy regarding these figures, Herbert Kickl was annoyed because 18,000 asylum applications in just one year were too many for him. So it’s clear which party in this country stands for security and which one for insecurity, because that’s the ÖVP,” the FPÖ Secretary-General concluded.
