FPÖ – gap: ÖVP and Greens call on their own government to work in the cultural sector through an application | Freedom Parliamentary Club

“Such applications are pure show politics on the part of the government and a desperate attempt to artificially keep the black-green federal government alive.”

Vienna (OTS) For the liberal cultural spokesman NAbg. Thomas Spalt, the motion to promote cultural education presented today in the National Council by ÖVP and Green MPs was a prime example of the fact that nothing would really work in the federal government anymore. “The application is regarding cultural education for children and young people, which in principle has nothing to say once morest it. But it is once once more a motion in which the ÖVP and the Greens call on themselves to finally take action. The members of the government parties have now once once more realized that nothing can go further in their coalition. Because why else would you ask yourself to work?” explained Spalt in his contribution to the debate in the National Council today.

“For years – as in many other areas – nothing has happened in the cultural sector. The least one might expect would be applications with concrete content. If you then look at the implementation of the self-imposed work orders, how slowly and how little of them are actually being addressed, then you also know that these applications are just smoke grenades from the ÖVP and the Greens and that nothing will happen until the end of the legislative period. Such proposals are pure show politics and a desperate attempt to artificially keep the black-green federal government alive. It is obvious and self-revealing that an attempt is being made here to generate a few more headlines with headlines and self-praising reasons – but applications that are empty of content,” said Spalt, who concluded: “If this government would finally deliver proper content and sensible proposals, it would We will discuss these objectively and with the interests of Austrians in the National Council in mind, but we will definitely not take part in this ÖVP-Green show politics in the cultural sector!”
