Ecker also emphasized the right to protection from sexual abuse enshrined in Article 34 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and insisted on the FPÖ child protection package

Vienna (OTS) On the occasion of tomorrow’s International Children’s Rights Day, FPÖ family spokeswoman NAbg said today. Rosa Ecker said that “the youngest members of our society in particular are suffering particularly badly from the drastic consequences of wrong political decisions” for which the black-green federal government is responsible with the help of the red-pink pseudo-opposition: “With the completely excessive Corona measures policy, ‘Social Distancing, mandatory masks and school closures took away their “childhood” over the course of two years. In addition, there is now also the record price increase that many children have to feel every day and which has sometimes led to more than 350,000 children in our country now being at risk of poverty! The FPÖ has long been calling for this with its comprehensive relief package, which is also “the most effective means of combating child poverty”.

The liberal family spokeswoman particularly emphasized the right to protection from sexual abuse, which is enshrined in Article 34 of the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. “Sexual abuse is the murder of children’s souls. We libertarians have been vehemently advocating for improvements in child protection for many years, but it only took the high-profile T. case for the federal government to even lift a finger here. The measures adopted by the National Council just a few weeks ago are in the right direction, but go far too far. Back in September, the FPÖ presented a child protection package that clearly puts victim protection ahead of perpetrator protection by, among other things, providing for massively higher minimum and maximum penalties for perpetrators and more support for victims. The implementation of this liberal package would build the ‘fortress of child protection’ that is so necessary!’” explained Ecker.
