Vienna (OTS) Yesterday, the Court of Auditors published the report “Protection of women against violence and victims”, which criticizes that “in Austria there is no long-term overall strategy for the protection of women from violence”. For the liberal women’s spokeswoman NAbg. Rosa Ecker, MBA, once again confirms the inaction of the ÖVP Women’s Minister Raab and the black-green federal government: “One press conference after the other, umpteen crisis summits, in which Nehammer, Raab and the other black-green ‘Muppet troupe’ stage themselves – Nothing is done for the population. Self-portrayal, friendliness and taking advantage of the tax pots – that is the current account of this government. Because the implementation of the announced measures has not been implemented so far. This federal government does nothing but keep the population ‘shaming’ – and that at the expense of the Austrians and above all at the expense of security and the protection of women. When the government started work, Raab announced major measures, after 4 years nothing has happened and nothing will happen again. The Greens refer to the budget negotiations and next year this government will be history – five years of inactivity. Together with the people, we will change that after the National Council election. As Chancellor, Herbert Kickl will work for the people and not against them.”

The work of a federal government must bring improvements instead of constantly complaining in the media. The ÖVP and the Greens have not been able to work for a long time, the black-green coalition has long since failed: “This federal government has long been ready for resignation. Because instead of finally implementing effective measures to protect women from violence, the ÖVP and the Greens are constantly passing the buck to each other in the media. Constantly reporting to the media that the coalition partner is inactive does not protect a woman from violence or even death. While violence against women and the murder of women in Austria has been increasing, especially since the total capitulation of the ÖVP and SPÖ in 2015, this federal government is glued to its seats and watching. The ÖVP and the Greens are not only failing across the board, they are also endangering all women in this country.”
