Kušej must be canceled with immediate effect
Vienna (OTS) – “He is free to have Martin Kušej’s private opinion, but interpreting the program of the castle in the direction he considers politically correct is more than unacceptable. As Burgtheater director, he should rather take care of a full house, which is established throughout Europe, instead of doing politics,” says the culture spokesman for the Vienna FPÖ, LAbg Stefan Berger. While Kušej continues to hold hands with his friend, the actor Teichtmeister, who is accused of child pornography, he is now railing in the media against everything that is politically right-of-centre and wants to emphasize this attitude with the program he is presenting. For this purpose, Nestroy’s ‘Talisman’ is to be shown with a title and Tennessee Williams’ ‘Orpheus Descends’ is to be adapted with regard to the dangers for minorities. “Kušej is waging a political struggle on the largest theater stage in the country at the expense of taxpayers. This approach is to be rejected absolutely and the director is to be recalled immediately,” concludes Berger.
