Austria is still lagging behind other countries when it comes to inflation
Vienna (OTS) – “There is no reason to celebrate” for FPÖ social spokeswoman NAbg. Dagmar Belakowitsch reported the news that inflation in Austria fell to 5.4 percent in October 2023 because: “Austria is still lagging behind other countries when it comes to inflation. In the euro area, the inflation rate is on average 2.9 percent; our neighboring country Germany reported a decline in inflation to 3.8 percent in the previous month. Anyone who falls into songs of joy here – like the ÖVP – proves once once more how far removed they really are from the concerns of the population.”
A closer look also reveals that although inflation has fallen, prices are still rising slightly. The increase in the consumer price index compared to the previous month was 0.3 percent and compared to the same month last year it was even 5.4 percent. Belakowitsch: “The Austrians are still a long way from breathing deeply. Prices for shopping, at the gas pumps or for energy are still high. And to this day, this black-green federal government has not backed away from its policy of social iciness. Not a single price was reduced by reducing or temporarily suspending excise taxes. Celebrating yourself for this policy is hard to beat in terms of cynicism.”
“In order to finally protect people effectively once morest rising prices, we need a new federal government led by the FPÖ, which, with a People’s Chancellor at the top, really takes care of the problems of our compatriots,” said FPÖ social spokeswoman NAbg. Dagmar Belakowitsch.
