“End the black-green debt and watering can policy and boost the economy in a targeted manner!”
Vienna (OTS) – “With the Energy Cost Subsidy II for companies, billions in taxpayer costs are not very accurate, but are distributed with enormous bureaucratic effort. This continuation of the black-green debt and watering can policy must finally come to an end!” demanded FPÖ economic spokesman NAbg today. Erwin Angerer in his contribution to the debate. “Politicians have to ensure economically sensible framework conditions instead of degrading entrepreneurs to state petitioners.” For years, however, the ÖVP and the Greens have limited themselves to distributing money – one aimless subsidy chases the next, according to Angerer.
“We are moving from the market economy to the planned economy – that can’t be the case,” Angerer stated and continued: “Billions are being distributed without addressing the causes, the merit order system is finally being ended and the electricity from Gas price decoupled. The consequences are record price increases and record inflation.”
“With this black-green economic policy, we are the negative leader,” said Angerer, referring to Austria’s poor performance in the European Commission’s “EU Regional Competitiveness Index”. This proves that Austria’s regions are losing competitiveness. Carinthia, for example, which brings up the rear in Austria, fared particularly badly. The greatest need to catch up would be in the area of infrastructure, accessibility by train, car and plane.
“There is simply a lack of solutions to structural challenges. Starting with education, through the training of apprentices, the shortage of skilled workers, the problems in nursing or the shortage of doctors, right through to the economy. Just distributing money is not enough and will not work in the long run,” Angerer said with conviction.
“Austria’s economic development must be strengthened by public investment in the infrastructure,” said the free spokesman for business. Angerer submitted a motion by calling on the black-green government to “finally end the distribution of billions from the federal budget with little accuracy and potential for overfunding and budget funds in the sense of an economic catch-up race and strengthening of the domestic regions, especially in the area of investments in infrastructure, broadband and road construction, as well as the expansion of public transport.”
