People’s Party has failed across the board in terms of security policy
Vienna (OTS) – “The ÖVP’s fairytale hour when it comes to security continues on the 1st Sunday of Advent. Although the representation that the People’s Party is genuinely concerned regarding security in the country has long been refuted in view of the migration of people in 2022 and 2023 as well as the series of mishaps in the run-up to the Islamist terrorist attack in Vienna, the ÖVP insists on its version. The background is probably the soaring of Herbert Kickl and the FPÖ, which is causing more and more nervousness in the ÖVP party headquarters,” commented FPÖ security spokesman NAbg. Hannes Amesbauer today’s ‘joyful message’ from ÖVP General Secretary Stocker.
Only today did it become known that a Viennese association is said to have maintained intensive contacts with the terrorist organization Hamas for years. “The authorities apparently didn’t notice this for a long time. This is the next major mistake under the responsibility of ÖVP Interior Minister Karner. His predecessor Nehammer was already politically responsible for the terrorist attack in Vienna, as the report of the ‘Zerbes Commission’ highlighted. “Demanding an expansion of surveillance of all people as a reaction to our own failure is clearly going too far for us,” said Amesbauer.
The existing options for detecting and monitoring potential threats are sufficient. The Corona period has shown that hundreds of thousands of innocent citizens have been discredited by the governing parties as enemies of the state, even though they were only fighting for their basic rights and expressing their opinions freely. “In our view, wanting to spy on these people is extremely dangerous in terms of democratic policy. The greatest danger currently comes from imported anti-Semitism, a result of the open borders policy for which the ÖVP alone is responsible. The authorities should focus on this – but not on citizens who are critical of this government. And this part of the population is increasing day by day. But luckily black and green has an expiration date. By autumn 2024 at the latest, the governing parties will be made to pay for their failure by voters. Under a ‘People’s Chancellor’ Herbert Kickl, the undesirable developments in our country will be corrected – especially in migration policy,” said FPÖ security spokesman NAbg. Hannes Amesbauer looks positively into the future.
