FPÖ – Amesbauer: “ÖVP Minister of the Interior Karner lets the asylum chaos continue to escalate instead of taking action!” | Freedom Parliamentary Club

4,300 asylum applications mean a massive increase of 30 percent compared to January 2022 – “An immediate asylum stop is needed”

Vienna (OTS) “In addition to his insubstantial ‘asylum PR show’ and his collection of air miles, ÖVP Interior Minister Karner also wants to throw sand in the eyes of the citizens with numbers games. The fact is that he continues to watch the asylum chaos, which has long since escalated into a ‘new migration of peoples’. The January asylum numbers are alarming and in fact show very clearly: There needs to be an immediate halt to asylum once morest this illegal mass immigration!” said FPÖ security spokesman NAbg today. Hannes Amesbauer on reports from the ÖVP-led Ministry of the Interior, according to which the number of asylum applications in January fell by 40 percent compared to December 2022.

“The fact is that 4,300 asylum applications mean a massive increase of around 30 percent compared to January of the previous year, which ultimately cast the disaster year 2015 in the dark shadow with almost 110,000 applications. If Black-Green and Interior Minister Karner continue their total failure this year, as is unfortunately to be expected, then a new sad record in illegal mass immigration is imminent in 2023 – and this must be prevented at all costs. Because the citizens pay the bill for this black-green ‘open borders’ policy, with their security and their tax money,” warned Amesbauer.

Effective countermeasures must therefore be taken immediately, such as ensuring real border protection, the re-establishment of departure centers and, overall, the de-attractivism of Austria as an “asylum destination country”. “How long does Minister of the Interior Karner intend to put up with this uncontrolled, illegal mass immigration of the Austrians? With our 23-point package of measures for an immediate freeze on asylum, we Liberals have long since put effective instructions on the table. The Minister of the Interior must finally ensure that this is implemented, or ideally resign together with his black-green government colleagues in order to free up space on the government bench following new elections for those political forces who are willing to do so in the interests of our homeland!” NAbg. Hannes Amesbauer.
