FP farmer: ÖVP and SPÖ negotiate past the voters’ mandate

FPÖ is ready to take responsibility

St. Polten (OTS) In the state elections on January 29, the Lower Austrians made the FPÖ the second strongest force in the country with three government seats. “For six weeks, the ÖVP and SPÖ have been negotiating past the voters’ mandate. There is nothing further, there are no results – it is only muddled, but not delivered. That is neither in the interest of the country nor in the interest of the voters,” said FPÖ state party and club chairman Udo Landbauer at today’s press conference, criticizing the “black-red deadlock”.

“In view of the dramatic price explosion, brutal EVN bills, the nursing shortage and the construction sites for childcare, it is surprising that Johanna Mikl-Leitner beat around the bush for so long. It is strange that the state governor was hardly present in person at any round of talks and negotiations. It all seems very helpless, haphazard and irresponsible. The ÖVP should clarify for itself what it actually wants,” said Landbauer. The FPÖ party leader emphasizes that Lower Austria needs a functioning government. And quickly. “ÖVP and SPÖ put vanities in the foreground. Nobody in the population understands these power games. It needs solutions and real change,” says Landbauer.

The FPÖ is ready for serious negotiations. “I’ll start by saying that we won’t forget how Mikl-Leitner propagated compulsory vaccination and insulted the unvaccinated as a problem. We don’t forget how Johanna Mikl-Leitner tried to ruin the Freedom Party according to Mr. Ziegler’s plan, ORF State Director by her personal grace – because the Freedom Party voters don’t forget that either. And I’ll start by saying that we won’t forget what we promised, namely not to elect Johanna Mikl-Leitner as a person to be the head of state – because we made this promise out of experience and out of conviction – and we Liberals keep our promises! What I said before the election applies,” Landbauer clarifies.

Landbauer today put a concrete roadmap for negotiations for a labor agreement on the table.

First: If there are to be serious negotiations for Lower Austria with the FPÖ, then only with us. That means no parallel negotiations with the SPÖ.

Second: In order to find solutions quickly and in a targeted manner, a thematically oriented negotiation timetable is set out in advance. In other words: by when which topics should be discussed and processed.

Third: The results of the ongoing negotiations are communicated transparently and openly. The people of Lower Austria have the right to know where an agreement has already been reached and where there is still a need for discussion.

Fourth: At the end of this process, there is a fair division of powers in the Lower Austrian state government that reflects the will of the voters and that both sides can live with.

Fifth: Departmental state councilors must be equipped with comprehensive powers. This means financial and personnel responsibility in one’s own sphere of activity.

“It is clear that we will remain firmly in our positions. Time is running out. I am ready to bring about real change with the “Lower Austria First” offensive. All you need is the will and the courage,” says Landbauer.
