SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) — De’Aaron Fox had 28 points and six assists in his return to the court following a two-week absence with an ankle injury and the Sacramento Kings gave the coach Mike Brown’s 400th career victory with a 132-120 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Monday night.
Domantas Sabonis added 23 points and 10 rebounds for the Kings, who swept the Cavs last season. Keegan Murray had a season-high 25 points with five 3-pointers.
Donovan Mitchell led the Cavaliers with 22 points despite finishing the first quarter scoreless. Caris LeVert added 21 points and Max Strus 19.
Sacramento had six players score double digits, but the night belonged to Fox, who repeatedly unleashed chants from fans of “MVP! MVP!” In the second half.
Fox made an immediate impact in his first game back, scoring his first six points of the night with a layup 11 seconds into the game. A first-time All-Star last season, Fox then scored a reverse score and hit a 3-pointer to help the Kings lead 33-25.
Brown, who led the Kings to the playoffs in 2023 in his first season with the team, improved his coaching record to 400-254.
