The government of the state of Telangana, in India, announced on Friday March 3 that it had concluded a memorandum of understanding with the Taiwanese electronics giant Foxconn for the opening near the capital Hyderabad of a mega factory. Neither the amount of the investment, nor the timetable, nor the type of product to be manufactured are disclosed. But it is likely that this factory is intended, at least in part, for the assembly of the iPhone, of which Foxconn is the main manufacturer on behalf ofApple.
