Fourth West Asia Paralympic Games Concludes in Sharjah with Iraq Winning Championship Shield

Dr. Abdul Razzaq Bani Rashid, President of the West Asia Paralympic Federation, announced the conclusion of the competitions of the Fourth West Asia Paralympic Games hosted by the Emirate of Sharjah, under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, amid wide participation of more than 500 athletes who represented… 12 countries, where Iraq won the tournament shield, and the UAE came in second place.

The competitions of the Fourth West Asian Paralympic Games, hosted by the Emirate of Sharjah, concluded this Friday evening, amid wide participation of more than 500 athletes representing 12 countries. Iraq won the tournament shield with a large tally of 36 gold, 25 silver and 8 bronze medals, while the UAE came in the Runner-up with 25 gold, 23 silver, and 25 bronze, and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia third with 17 gold, 23 silver, and 11 bronze.

In exclusive statements to Sharjah 24, Dr. Abdul Razzaq Bani Rashid, President of the West Asia Paralympic Federation, explained that the curtain was lowered this evening on the activities of the fourth edition of the West Asian Paralympic Games, which were under the generous patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, champion of the disabled.

Bani Rashid added, the flag of the next session was handed over to the sister Sultanate of Oman, which will host the 5th West Asian Paralympic Games in 2026 in the capital, Muscat, extending his thanks and appreciation to the organizing committee and all those who contributed to the success of this important sporting event.
