Violent riots broke out in the Swedish town of Norrkoping on Sunday, police said. This is the fourth consecutive day of unrest in this country, Sweden, where the police are now employing major means. At the origin of these riots, it is a copy of the Koran which was burned during the demonstrations of an organization of the Danish extreme right Rasmus Paludan.
According to Swedish media, three people were shot dead by the police. One of them was reportedly taken to hospital with a shoulder injury. More than 25 people have been arrested during violent protests that erupted in the Swedish town of Norrköping on Sunday.
There has been unrest in Sweden for four consecutive days. The reason was still a meeting organized by the Danish right-wing extremist Rasmus Paludan during which a Koran was burned. This had previously led to resistance and riots in Malmö, Örebro, Linköping and Landskrona, mainly causing property damage. Some police officers were also injured.
Previously, the police had fired warning shots. A tire and a car were also set on fire. Police have not confirmed they shot three people, but say on their own website that a man may have been hit in the leg by a ricocheted bullet following a warning shot.
