Four years without Kelly Preston, a life of love and tragedy

It has been 4 years since actress Kelly Preston, wife of actor John Travolta, passed away due to breast cancer. She died at the age of 57 on July 12, 2020. However, Kelly’s life has not been easy.

She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii, on October 13, 1962. When she was just three years old, she lost her father in a drowning accident. She married actor Kevin Gage in 1985, although the marriage lasted only a couple of years. She had a complicated relationship with actor Charlee Sheen, a somewhat dark period in her life due to the couple’s addiction to alcohol and drugs. Although they got engaged, they never married.

After this stormy relationship Preston would meet the love of her life, John Travolta, she married the star of Grease in 1991 and they had three children, Jett, Ella and Benjamin. Becoming one of the strongest couples in Hollywood. Unfortunately for the couple and her siblings, Jett died in 2009 following suffering a seizure and hitting her head in the bathtub. Jett suffered from Kawasaki disease. Little Ella was only 9 years old and although the couple saw it difficult to have more children since Preston was 48 years old, following Jett’s tragedy she became pregnant with Benjamin who came into the world in 2010. Filling the family with joy once more, although they never forgot the loss of Jett.

As for her career, the actress made her debut in 1983 in the film Christine, although perhaps one of her best-known films is Twins, in which she starred alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger and Danny DeVito (1988) or The Experts, a film in which she met Travolta. After this, she continued to appear in supporting roles in films such as Jerry Maguire (1996), Jack Frost (1998), and A Dream for Ella (2003). In 2018 she would act once more alongside her husband in the film Gotti.

Kelly was proud of the family she had formed and it was what she was most proud of on her social media. Unfortunately, in 2018 she was diagnosed with breast cancer that she might not overcome and she passed away on July 12, 2020.
