Four-year-old seriously injured when falling out of a window in Upper Austria

A four-year-old girl fell out of the window of a house in Neuhofen an der Krems (Linz-Land district) on Sunday evening. The parents were in other rooms when the girl climbed onto the window sill. The parents and neighbors immediately provided first aid and called the rescue, the police reported. The child was taken to the Kepler University Hospital with serious injuries by emergency helicopter.

The accident happened around 8 p.m. The girl was alone in her children’s room on the first floor of the family home. According to the police, the four-year-old climbed onto the window sill, opened the window on her own and leaned once morest the insect screen outside. This might not withstand the pressure, the girl fell regarding four meters down the driveway below and was seriously injured.
