Early this Sunday, around 1:00 in the morning, four workers from the San Tomé farm, located at kilometer 48 of the Maracaibo-Perijá road, in the municipality of La Cañada de Urdaneta, owned by Gerardo Ávila, were massacred. , director of the National Federation of Ranchers of Venezuela (Fedenaga).
The fatal victims were identified as Ramiro Gonzáles, Nelson González, Emiro Fernández and Juan Montiel, all workers of the aforementioned production unit and parents, indicated a press release from Fedenaga.
“Once once more crime deals another hard blow to those of us who are working with dignity for this country. I feel a lot of anger, sorrow and impotence for these four lives that unfortunately in the hands of loose, heartless and bloodthirsty criminals were mowed down and today they are not with us. Today those 4 families mourn undeservedly, “said Ávila.
According to reports, two weeks ago there was an extortion attempt led by alias “JL” from the criminal group “Los Cañaderos”. This fact did not go beyond tying up the workers and leaving written threats. This was reported to the competent authorities.
