A family living in Lahore was going to Islamabad on Friday in their personal Honda Civic vehicle. Meanwhile, four people including three women were found dead while the driver was found unconscious. Speaking to Independent Urdu, Umar Qasim, the driver who survived in the car, said, “I don’t know how the car stopped on the side because I was unconscious.” Earlier, as soon as we left Lahore on the motorway, my mother’s health worsened, so we went out of the Khanqah Dogran Interchange and bought juice and patties from a store as we were far away from staying and eating. After we ate juices and patties, near the Bhera Interchange, everyone’s condition started to deteriorate and I lost consciousness.’

He said that ‘Later, when I went to the nearest hospital and regained consciousness, I found that my mother, 55-year-old Romila, my sister, 25-year-old Samar, who was married two months later, 30-year-old sister-in-law, whose name was Meher. My six-year-old nephew Aun Ali had died.

‘They reported to their home in Lahore, they came and brought the bodies home. Our residence is near Lakshmi Chowk and he is buried in his ancestral graveyard. The application has been given to the police, but the post-mortem report of the deceased has not been received yet. From which it can be known what is the real cause of his death.’

According to Sargodha Police Spokesperson Abid Hussain, local police also arrived at the incident along with the Motorway Police. Now they lease the space here through their subsidiary company ‘More’ and they also decide to increase the toll tax of this motorway.’
