The public security summary from the last 72 hours, presented by the National Police, reports on the deaths of four people resulting from road accidents in the city of Luanda
The deaths, according to Nestor Goubel, PN spokesperson in Luanda, result from a total of 20 road accidents that took place in several municipalities in Luanda, with a total of 37 people injured.
According to the management of the institutional communication and press office of the Luanda Provincial Command of the National Police (PN), what was behind the accidents were excessive speed and a lack of caution when driving, which contributed to damage materials valued at more than 20 million kwanzas.
During the period under analysis, (07) traffic calm speed containment barriers were created using radars and other technical means for this purpose, with a greater incidence on Av. Fidel de Castro Ruz, Pedro de Castro Van-Dunem Loy , January 21st and National Road No. 100 “Cabo Ledo”.
“It is worth highlighting the arrest of 44 motorists aged between 30 and 55 years old, for their alleged responsibility for the crimes of driving while drunk and disobedience and resistance to law enforcement officers, which will be forwarded to the Court in the coming hours”, he said.
Still within the scope of the regularization and inspection of motor traffic, 17 vehicles were seized, 24 motorbikes and 388 motorists were sanctioned with fines for various infractions of the Highway Code, with emphasis on 48 fines for stopping in prohibited places, 102 fines for lack of traffic. of compulsory motor vehicle liability insurance and 44 for not wearing a seat belt.
Regarding public security, the Police in Luanda carried out, in the last 72 hours, eight micro-operations that spread across all municipalities in the province, allowing the clarification of 35 crimes, namely, 18 crimes of robbery and nine crimes of theft in residences and on public roads, which resulted in the arrest of 43 suspected citizens.
They also seized six firearms, five of which were the AKM machine gun, one of the pistol type; and the recovery of electronic devices and household utensils previously in the possession of criminals. “The management of the Luanda Provincial Command of the PN calls on citizens to report all those who use bladed weapons or firearms to commit crimes”, appealed Nestor Goubel.
