Four people arrested have been remanded

Four people arrested yesterday in connection with the murder of RSS leader Srinivasan have been remanded. Bilal, Rizwan, Sahad and Riyazuddin were remanded in custody for 14 days.
Three more people were arrested in the incident. Ashfaq, a native of Kalpathy, Ashraf, a native of Olavakkode and Saddam Hussain, a native of Kanjirapuzha were arrested. Saddam Hussein, who was arrested, is the mosque’s imam. The imam was arrested for hiding one of the accused. The investigation team found that the Imam also kept the mobile phone of another accused.

The mobile phone of one of the killers was found in the church near the conch. An auto rickshaw carrying the weapon and three bikes of the accused were taken into custody. Two more people involved in the conspiracy have been arrested today, bringing the total number of people arrested in the case to six.

Defendants allege that the plot for revenge began in the graveyard near the mortuary on Friday night when Zubair was killed. One of the main accused, Abdul Bhimal, brother of Abdul Rahman, a native of Shankhu Warat, and Riyazuddin, a member of the killer group, were brought in to give evidence. The phone was found in a church controlled by the Popular Front shortly following noon.

The phone was handed over to Abdul Rahman’s brother before he escaped following the murder. Bilal hid it in the mosque. The autorickshaw carrying the weapon was abandoned near the church. Defendants testified that five swords were delivered to the auto on the night of the 15th. The murder plot took place behind the district hospital.
