Four New Additional Advocates Appointed in Indore High Court Amid Controversy and Political Tensions

Indore, Special Correspondent. The much-anticipated list of appointments for government lawyers at the Indore bench of the High Court was finally released on Wednesday night. After high-level intervention, Additional Advocate General Anand Soni succeeded in reinstating himself in this position at the last minute. His father, L.N. Soni, had also previously served as Additional Advocate General.

Two new Additional Advocates General have been appointed for Indore. One is Vishwajeet Joshi and the other is Sonam Gupta. Gupta’s appointment comes from the Jabalpur quota, but it is mentioned in the order that she will be attached to Indore. Additionally, another Additional Advocate General, Archana Kher, has a term that lasts until September 19. With these appointments, Indore will now have four Additional Advocates General. The new Deputy Advocate General, Sudip Bhargav, is from Ujjain and is the son of a former Congress MLA. LG Bhargav, related to this family, had served as an officer in the State Bar Council for many years. This list of new appointments has surprised not only those connected with the legal world but also the organization and the BJP. In the case of Anand Soni, who succeeded in becoming Additional Advocate General again, the organization was definitely taken into confidence at the last moment. There was also involvement from Delhi to ensure he remained in this position. The names of the new Additional Advocates General, Vishwajeet Joshi and Sonam Gupta, are also considered surprising. Since the list was released on Wednesday night, various levels of inquiry have begun to determine which connections led to their opportunity for this important position. Gupta has been appointed as an Additional Advocate General at the Jabalpur main bench, with an attachment to Indore mentioned. Currently, Archana Kher is serving as the Additional Advocate General at the Indore bench until September 19, meaning there will be four Additional Advocates General in Indore for now.

The BJP Law Wing has also filed an objection
According to sources, the names proposed by the BJP’s Law Wing and the lawyer council associated with the organization for these positions did not receive much attention. After the list was released, individuals connected with the BJP Law Wing also filed their objections regarding this matter. However, some advocates associated with the organization who are already carrying out the responsibilities of government and subordinate lawyers have been retained in this list.
