Four grain ships leave Ukraine, 31 in total

Four more ships carrying food have left Ukrainian ports, bringing the total number of ships from Ukraine to 31 under a UN-brokered grain export deal, the Turkish ministry said on Sunday. of the defense.

Two ships departed from the Ukrainian port of Chornomorsk, while others left the ports of Odessa and Yuzhny, the ministry said on Twitter.

He added that one ship from Ukraine and five others bound for that country will also be inspected in northern Istanbul.

Ukraine’s Seaports Authority said on Saturday that three Ukrainian seaports have started loading food onto seven ships, which will deliver 66,500 tonnes of wheat, corn and sunflower oil.

Turkey, the United Nations, Russia and Ukraine signed an agreement on July 22 in Istanbul to resume grain exports from the Ukrainian Black Sea ports of Yuzhny, Chornomorsk and Odessa, which had been interrupted. due to the Russian-Ukrainian war, which is in its sixth month.

A joint coordination center made up of officials from the three countries and the UN has been set up in Istanbul to oversee the shipments.

Turkish Defense Minister Hulusi Akar said on Saturday that as many as 51 ships had set sail as a result of the deal, including 27 from Ukraine.
