Debate night yesterday for PASOK. At the radio station of ERT, the six candidates for the presidency of the Movement faced each other a few days before the election battle (October 6 the first and October 13 the “final”). Nikos Androulakis, Pavlos Geroulanos, Nadia Giannakopoulou are to the left of the two ERT journalists and to their right Anna Diamantopoulou, Haris Doukas, Michalis Katrinis answered six thematic sections, but also had a direct dialogue with each other, asking each other.

The debate had everything. And fights between the candidates, and intense dialogues, and hints and news! In a civilized way, the confrontations, but it appeared that there is a distance between specific candidates on various issues.
We had a strong reaction from Giannakopoulos to Androulakis for the insinuations he left, disagreement several times between Doukas and Diamantopoulos, confrontation between Giannakopoulos and Katrinis about the patriotic PASOK, Geroulanos’ answer to Androulakis about the PASOK program and bitter Androulakis to Diamantopoulos for a soft stance in favor of Mitsotakis and Giannakopoulou’s nails for the Media Group of V. Marinakis!
The questions to the candidates were submitted by ERT journalists, Apostolos Maggiriadis and Giorgos Kouvaras.
The six topics to which the candidates answered were Economy-Development, Social state-New generation-Demographic, Foreign policy-Defence-European Union, State-Institutions-Self-government, Climate crisis-Political protection-Energy transition, PASOK: Next day.
Iraklis Roupas: “Dynamic debate, I liked Geroulanos”
The executive of PASOK, economist, former politician and supporter of Pavlos Geroulanos, Iraklis Roupas, speaking to “P”, said: “The new format of the debate is very nice, this dialogue and the opportunity for questions sets an example of how debates must take place, and PASOK shows the way. Beyond that, from the first image, I really like the positions of Pavlos Geroulanos, but debates are a dynamic process and everyone has to win, just like the viewers to draw their own conclusions for the next day in politics. For me, Pavlos Geroulanos should be elected president of PASOK, who should compose the party with all the positive opinions that are heard”.
Nikos Moiralis: “Androulakis has been ready for a long time”
The secretary of the Prefectural Committee of PASOK in Achaia Nikos Moiralis and supporter of the president Nikos Androulakis, speaking to “Peloponnisos”, said: “First of all I want to comment that the debate is innovative because it allows the participants to ask questions to each other another and this shows that it is not rigged, riveting the viewers.
Beyond that, Nikos Androulakis has been ready for a long time, he answered with clarity and confidence to all the critical questions that were put to him about the issues of the moment and this means a lot for the next day in PASOK. I am optimistic that the party will emerge stronger from the electoral process.”
Thanasis Giannadakis: “Ch. Doukas is clearer”
Thanasis Giannadakis, a member of NE Achaia of PASOK, who has expressed his preference for Haris Doukas, commented on the first part of the telefight as follows: “I think that in the first half of the telefight all six players moved more defensively than offensively. Their first concern is not to make a big mistake and attack in the second half. However, I appreciate that on particularly sensitive issues, such as bank dividends, PPC, relations with SYRIZA, Haris Doukas was the one who took the clearest position and spoke openly and directly, and of course clearly won the impressions. It was by far the most substantial and comfortable. Michalis Katrinis was also good in the first part. In general, however, Mr. Doukas seemed more clear and precise in his positions.”
Kostas Spiliopoulos: “Anna stood out with a difference”
The former member of parliament for Achaia and PASOK deputy minister Kostas Spiliopoulos, who has chosen Anna Diamantopoulou’s camp in the internal party elections, was absolute: “I’m not saying this because I was influenced by my choice, but it was obvious: Anna Diamantopoulou stood out, and very much so. She was by far the clearest in her speech and positions. With depth and clarity in her answers. She answered everything directly and with arguments, unlike her fellow candidates who answered more vaguely many times.
According to me, the unpleasant surprise was the presence of Mr. Doukas. I would even describe him as disappointing. Also, Mr. Katrinis was quite irritable and aggressive. In any case, the world saw, judged and will act accordingly, but I say it again, there was a big difference between Mrs. Diamantopoulos and the rest.”
