Four bidders interested in road safety works

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Government announced that four bidders have submitted their bids to the call of the Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) for the improvement of safety in the country’s road infrastructure.

This Tuesday, the delivery and opening of the offers for the “MOPC Call No. 21/2024 National Public Tender for the improvement of safety in the country’s road infrastructure”, ID No. 447,738, took place.

The bidders that participated in the call for tenders are three consortia and one independent company for the execution of the project in its two lots, according to the MOPC report.

The Caminos Seguros Consortium (Edivi SA Construction Company, Alpe SA Construction Company) quoted Lot 2 at G. 60,956,123,735; CDD Construcciones for G. 156,340,912,540 for the two lots.

In turn, the Paraguay Security Consortium (Servían Paraguay Sociedad Anónima, LT SA, Constructora Acaray SA) offered G. 60,104,689,264 for Lot 2 and the Camino Seguro Consortium (Ocho A SA, Tecnoedil SA Constructora, Construtex SA), presented its offer for the two lots at G. 109,003,257,029.

The initiative undertaken by the Ministry of Public Works is part of a comprehensive plan to improve road safety for all users of national and departmental routes.

Some items to be executed

The work includes the installation of new certified guardrails and horizontal signage on 10 road sections covering a total of 716 km.

On the one hand, the first lot includes the improvement of the lateral infrastructures, that is, the installation of 78,000 linear meters of qualified and certified railings is planned. As part of the works of Lot 1, the removal of damaged protections and transitions between railings, among the most important, is also established.

Lot 2, for its part, involves everything related to horizontal signage, mainly the improvement of safety in road infrastructure with horizontal signage with water-based acrylic and thermoplastic paint.

The installation of speed bump lines, removal and replacement of reflective studs and vertical signage, and the installation of vertical channeling devices are also planned. The execution period for Lot 1 is 48 months and for Lot 2, 36 months.

In total, the tender covers sections of both national and departmental routes and are as follows: Horqueta – Azotey of the D030 (74 km); Arroyito Sergeant Jose Felix Lopez of the D028 (111 km); Santa Rosa del Aguaray – Captain Bado of the PY11 route (138 km); Choré – Itacurubí of the Rosary D032 (60 km); access Tacuati D035 (35 km) and Tacuati – Horqueta D030 (41 km).

The list continues with: Azotey – Tacuatí of the D030 (40 km); access Bella Vista North of route PY08 (80 km); Guaraní- Pindoty Porã crossing of the PY07 route (42 km) and, finally, Curuguaty – Yphejú of the PY13 route (95 km).
