As of 12:44 p.m. this Monday (April 24) the West Tunnel is closed, in both directions.

According to the authorities’ report, the closure of the tunnel occurred because a vehicle overturned with a liquid spill inside the corridor.

“Total closure of the Western Tunnel, in both directions, due to a road incident inside. Our staff attends to the situation”, announced the Devimar Concessionaire.

“The incident occurred inside the tunnel where a vehicle overturned with a liquid spill. 13 units of the Medellín Official Fire Department carry out an inspection at the site”, detailed from the Medellín mayor’s office.

While the spill is being controlled, the Tunnel was closed in its two lanes as a preventive measure.
