Workshop registration
The first event dedicated exclusively to the photoperformance segment, the FFP also has a wide program consisting of lectures and round tables, book launches, workshops and lives with guest artists.
One of the training activities is the Photoperformance Workshop, which will be taught by the visual artist, photographer and art director Luiza Palhares and by the multi-artist Morgana Mafra, whose work focuses on the arts of the body in movement. The workshop takes place on March 18th and 21st, and April 1st, from 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm, at the Usina de Cultura Cultural Center.
Entries are free and can be completed using the online form available at www.forumfotoperformance.com. The activity proposes an experience through experimentation and reflection around two central axes of photoperformance – the body and photography. Composition studies such as framing, light, color, shapes and textures, as well as text and context, will also be addressed.
The 2nd Photoperformance Forum is sponsored by Uni-BH and is made possible through the Municipal Culture Incentive Law (LMIC). The complete program, with all the activities, will still be published on the festival’s website.
About the event
But, following all, what is photoperformance? Photography or performance? Record or work? These are some questions that motivated the creation of the Fotoperformance Forum, whose first edition took place in 2019, in Belo Horizonte. Conceived by Ludmilla Ramalho, Lucas Dupin and Luiza Palhares, this is the first forum dedicated to the discussion of photoperformance from different perspectives with the participation of artists, curators and researchers from different parts of Brazil.
In the first edition of the event, held at BDMG Cultural, six artists participated in the artistic residency, selected from among 150 applicants from across the country. The program had the participation of renowned names in photography, performance and visual arts, such as Rodrigo Braga, Ayrson Heráclito, Luciano Vinhosa, Aleta Valente, Paulo Nazareth, Marcos Hill, Dalton Paula, Júlia Rebouças, Lenora de Barros, Carlos Mendonça , Ana Luisa Santos, Guilherme Cunha and Adolfo Cifuentes.
