Her support education is a perennial priority in its Corporate Social Responsibility strategy Eurobankwhich is constantly reformed and enriched, in order to effectively respond to the changing social challenges facing the country. For 20 years, the Bank has been focusing its social action on areas related to the new generation and its efforts to learn and enter the labor market, as well as preventing the phenomenon of “brain drain”.
The program Forward for Education started in 2003 with the initiative of Eurobank and the support of the Ministry of Education, Religion and Sports. This is the only award program for excellence in Higher Education with a nationwide scope, which this year completes 21 years uninterrupted presence. Through the Program, Eurobank awards every year the first excellent graduating student of the 3rd Lyceum with the highest sum of marks in the four main subjects examined, on the twenty-point scale of the Panhellenic Examinations, for their access to higher education, in each of the 1,800 general and vocational high schools of the country, public and private, day and night. In addition, the first excellent graduate of each Regional Unit of the country is awarded, i.e. approximately 60 young men and women, who collected the greatest sum of points, over 72, in the nationwide exams.
Over the years, Eurobank has won awards 21,537 excellent students from all over Greece with a total amount reaching €20 million in monetary prizes, while cfor the school year 2022-2023, the Bank awards this year 1,034 young masters.
Honors awards are held at special events by school district, from October to December each year. In this context, on November 20, Eurobank honored, at a special award ceremony in Patras, 63 high school graduates from the Regional Units of Achaia, Aetoloakarnania, Cephalonia and Zakynthos and one graduate from the Cyclades regional unit who is studying at the University of Patras.
The program Forward for Education embraces Greece from end to end and enables Eurobank to participate as an active social partner in supporting local communities, outstanding children and their families, as well as their schools and teachers.
