Fortuna Sittard recorded a very convincing home win over Excelsior on Sunday: 5-2. Thanks to a hat trick from Kaj Sierhuis, the home team quickly finished with the visitors. The unleashed striker also provided two assists.

After just over half an hour there was already a 4-0 score on the scoreboard in the Fortuna Sittard Stadium. Justin Lonwijk scored the opening goal on a pass from Sierhuis, who then claimed the leading role.

The unleashed striker scored in the 15th, 29th and 34th minutes. His third goal, a volley from outside the sixteen-meter area, was especially nice. He lifted his season total in the Eredivisie to nine goals.

In the second half, Excelsior returned the favor through Derensili Sanches Fernandes, who also scored beautifully. Then it was Fortuna’s turn once more: Rodrigo Guth scored and once more the assist came from star Sierhuis. Richie Omorowa set the final score at 5-2 on behalf of Excelsior.

Fortuna recorded its second victory in a row. In the previous round, RKC Waalwijk was already defeated (0-1). The team of coach Danny Buijs remains number eleven in the Eredivisie.

At the bottom we have to be careful for the Excelsior of coach Marinus Dijkhuizen. The Rotterdam team has already lost for the fifth time in a row and is still just above the relegation zone.
