The only other rule to know is that the more the phases of the game advance, the stronger the storms become and therefore the more life points you will lose per second inside it. However, it is not impossible to stay there for a while.

In effect, there are even techniques which consist in using the storm in its rotations or its fights. In this case, the only thing to make sure is to have enough tools to regain VP. Except that it seems that it does not please Epic Games too much, which has decided to react.

A new mechanic: The evil of the storm

The problem is that to deal with this situation, basically there didn’t seem to be a good idea. Indeed, we could have thought of an increase in storm damage, but this would have impacted all players, including those unintentionally stuck inside it.

So, to ensure fairness while solving the problem, Epic Games has just implemented a new mechanic in its game called the evil of the storm. The principle is simple, if you stay too long in the storm, you are affected by this disease.

Now, when you’re hit by it, you’re going to have the right to an acceleration of HP loss inside the storm. This evil, it will come back then as soon as you enter a storm again until the end of the game. There’s no way to track its progress until you’re hit, but when you get close, a message will appear in-game letting you know.
