Fortnite returns to its beginnings with the “OG season”

Available for download since Friday, October 3, the OG season returns to the beginnings of video games, in 2017.

It’s a bit like a return to the source. A trip back in time that takes us back to September 2017. This Friday, October 3, Fortnite returns to the first version of the game, which earned it its success. The OG (original) season chapter 4, announced a few days ago by Epic Games is now available for download.

The American studio pulled out all the stops and decided to completely reverse the trend of the current Fortnite. The game has, until now, been going through the fourth season of its chapter 4. Fans of battle royale (game principle which brings together 100 players in the same space, the last survivor is declared the winner) are dying to jump off the bus for destinations that sound familiar.

Pleasant Park, Greasy Groove, Tomato Town, Retail Row, Loot Lake… all the authentic towns are back. You will probably have to wait until chapter 2 to wander around Tilted Towers – the most popular city in the game.

The excitement of the community

Same goes for weapons like the shotgun, combat turret and machine gun. For the moment, it will be impossible for you to move around other than by glider or on foot, vehicles being absent from the first version of the game. You will have to be patient to hope for chapters 3, 4 and 5.

Obviously, this announcement caused a stir within the Fortnite community. There is no doubt that this update will allow the reconstitution of teams from a bygone era. “Me contacting my online friends, who I haven’t spoken to in years, to play Fortnite,” jokes one user on X.

“The original team coming together following learning the Season 1 map is back,” says another.

For now, although the update is available in the Epic Games store, the developer’s servers have encountered some problems, notably due to an overflow of players trying to connect simultaneously.
