Fortnite now it’s more than a game, it’s an Olympic eSport. The revelation was made by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which announced the Epic Games battle royale as the next game to become a modality of the Olympic Esports Week. According to the IOC, the free-to-play game will be part of the new “sport shooting” section. The next Olympic Esports Week will be held next month in Singapore.
Who will participate in the tournament
Within the Epic Games game, an unprecedented island was created entirely for the holding of the tournament during the Olympic period, where 12 players will face each other to seek the royale victory. Those chosen to participate in the Olympic tournament will come directly from the Champion Series, the official Epic Games championship. Check below the official announcement that explains more regarding the tournament.
A specially designed Fortnite Creative Island, made to reflect the esports shooting competition, will put sharp marksmen’s aiming accuracy to the test and see them navigate the game environment as they compete to become an Olympic Esports Series winner
