The emergency medical helicopter was on duty at a construction site in Lambach around ten o’clock on Thursday: A 56-year-old electrician was hit by two formwork panels weighing 450 kilograms each. The Croatian citizen sustained life-threatening injuries in the accident, the police said in the evening.
The woman had been working on the construction site when an 18-year-old colleague made a serious mistake: the young man was busy dismantling the two large, interconnected formwork panels. He removed the anchor rod too early and overlooked the fact that he had not yet secured the formwork panels to the crane hook. The construction fell on the Croatian woman who was working in front of it. In the followingnoon at the Wels Clinic, doctors fought for the 56-year-old’s survival.
