According to a statement on Friday, the racing series agreed with the track operators to extend the contract for another year. In this way, Formula 1 is rewarding the Grand Prix organizers’ investments in more modern infrastructure at the legendary circuit in the Ardennes. The spectator capacity at the race track was expanded so that, according to the organizers, around 380,000 fans attended the Belgium weekend this year. “Spa stands for Formula 1,” said Stefano Domenicali, the racing series’ managing director.
To date, 56 Grands Prix have been held on the track. For 2024, the Belgian Grand Prix is scheduled for July 28th.
