Formula 1 | Official: Williams F1 announces the end of its collaboration with Latifi

Williams Racing and Nicholas Latifi have just confirmed that they will part ways at the end of the 2022 season, which is the end of the Canadian driver’s current contract.

Latifi made his Formula 1 debut with Williams Racing at the 2020 Austrian Grand Prix and has made 55 Grand Prix starts so far, scoring 7 championship points, including his first points at the 2021 Hungarian Grand Prix.

After confirming that Alex Albon will continue into next year and beyond, Williams Racing will announce its full 2023 driver roster “on time”.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone at Williams Racing – everyone at the factory and those I have worked with trackside – over the past three years,” comments Latifi.

“My first F1 debut was postponed due to the pandemic, but we finally started in Austria and, although we didn’t get the results together that we were hoping for, it was still a fantastic adventure. first points in Hungary last year was a moment I will never forget, and I will move into the next chapter of my career with special memories of my time with this dedicated team. I know none of us will not stop making every effort until the end of the season.”

Jost Capito, the CEO and Team Principal, is therefore turning a page, unsurprisingly.
