Formula 1 – Michael Masi officially leaves the FIA

Criticized after his decisions at the last Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi last season, the former race director, still an employee of the international federation, decided to pack his bags. The instance has “confirmed that Michael Masi has decided to leave the FIA ​​and return to Australia to be closer to his family and embark on new challenges. The one who replaced Charlie Whiting in 2019 found himself in the crosshairs after a series of controversial decisions, in particular in the arbitration of the duel between Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. Last February, he was officially thanked by the president of the FIA, Mohammed Ben Sulayem, who then announced a restructuring of the decision-making power.
